Three large wildfires raged across parts of Southern California this week, forcing thousands of people to evacuate, damaging homes and creating multiple areas where firefighters had to try to confront the flames – all at the same time.
The Bridge Fire in San Bernardino County, which grew tenfold in a day and had burned 75 square miles (194 square kilometers) as of early September 11, is now the largest of these three major wildfires, endangering tens of thousands of homes and other structures. A 34-year-old man was arrested for allegedly starting this fire, local news said.
