Typhoon Yagi and the consequent landslides and floods have left 226 people dead and 104 missing in Vietnam as of Thursday afternoon, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development said.

The northern province of Lao Cai has suffered the heaviest casualties, with 98 dead and 81 missing, the ministry said in a report.
