Call for global children's art submissions: 'China Through My Eyes'

Dear Parents, Teachers, and Young Artists,

We are excited to announce a global call for children's artwork on the theme "China Through My Eyes." This is a unique opportunity for children from around the world to share their perspectives and artistic talents by depicting their views and impressions of China.

Submission guidelines:

1. Theme: The artwork should reflect the theme "China Through My Eyes." This could include representations of Chinese culture, landscapes, history, or any other aspect of China that inspires the young artist.

2. Eligibility: Children aged 4-14 from any country or region are welcome to participate.

3. Medium: Participants may use any medium, including but not limited to drawing, painting, or collage. The use of AI tools or software to assist in the creation of the artwork is not permitted. Please ensure that the artwork is entirely original and created by the participant.

4. Size: Submissions should generally be NO LARGER THAN A3 size (297 x 420 mm or 11.7 x 16.5 inches). However, if necessary for creative expression, the size requirement may be relaxed accordingly.

5. Submission format: A digital image of the artwork should be submitted in JPEG or PNG format. The resolution should be at least 300 dpi. The file name should be modified according to the requirements (Name-Age-Country/Region-Title.JPEG/PNG). The digital image of the artwork may be published on China Media Group's media platforms, including CGTN.

6. Submission deadline: All entries must be received by September 29, 2024.

7. Introduction video (optional): We encourage the submission of an introductory video, which may include a personal introduction by the child, the background behind the creation of the artwork, and an explanation of the content. The artwork should appear in the video. The video may be published on China Media Group's media platforms, including CGTN. Video recording requirements: a smartphone or a professional DSLR camera can be used, ensuring that the child's face is unobstructed, the image quality is clear, and the sound is complete, recorded in portrait orientation. The video should be submitted in MP4 or MOV format.

8. How to submit: Please email the digital image of the artwork (clear and complete photo or scan), the completed submission form (click to download the submission form. Both the Word document and digital images of the signed form should be submitted), and the digital images of the signed authorization agreement (click to download the authorization agreement) to chinaplus@cgtn.com, with the subject line "China Through My Eyes Art Submission." If providing an introduction video, please also enclose the video in the email. Please keep the original artwork, the signed submission form, and the signed authorization agreement for potential use in physical exhibitions. Please use a computer to download the submission form and authorization agreement, as mobile devices may not support this function. Feel free to contact us if you encounter any issues with the download.

9. Rewards: Each shortlisted entry (50 entries) will be awarded a $10 electronic recharge card, and those who provide an authorized video will receive an additional $10 electronic recharge card.

Selection and exhibition:

A panel of judges will carefully review all submissions and select artworks to be showcased in an online gallery, with the possibility of inclusion in future physical exhibitions. Selected artists will receive a digital certificate of participation and recognition. Prizes include one grand prize of a $100 electronic recharge card, five first prizes of $50 electronic recharge cards, ten second prizes of $30 electronic recharge cards, and twenty third prizes of $20 electronic recharge cards. The results will be announced by the end of October, 2024.

In addition, selected artworks may be transformed into lanterns by skilled artisans and displayed at the next Zigong International Lantern Festival, a nationally-recognized intangible cultural heritage event in Sichuan Province. Furthermore, China Media Group and its affiliates, including CGTN, may use the submission content for future content creation, including programs, publications, and other derivative works for global promotion and distribution across various platforms.
