China is strongly dissatisfied with and firmly opposes U.S. abuse of Section 301 to hike tariffs on some Chinese goods, the Ministry of Commerce said Saturday.

China has made serious representations to the United States multiple times regarding the issue, the ministry said, adding that the U.S. moves are typical practices of unilateralism and protectionism.

The ministry said the moves have not only undermined the international trade order and the security and stability of the global industrial and supply chains, but also failed to solve its own trade deficit and industrial competitiveness problems, resulting in pushing up the price of U.S. imported goods.

The latest report on the WTO compliance of the United States released by China's Ministry of Commerce has also continued to express its concerns over U.S. abuse of Section 301, it said.

The ministry urged the U.S. side to immediately correct its wrongdoing, adding that China will take resolute measures to safeguard the interests of Chinese enterprises.
