At this year's China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) in Beijing, the environmental services exhibition features over a dozen of the world's top 500 companies and industry leaders from countries including Austria, Germany, France, Ireland, Italy, Switzerland and Brazil.
Some companies are showcasing innovative technologies, turning waste into valuable products as solutions to global environmental challenges.
A French company specializing in enzymatic bioremediation is pioneering green technologies for the high-quality recycling of plastic and textile waste. Its enzymatic recycling process can efficiently convert over 90 percent of plastic waste into new, high-quality PET (polyethylene terephthalate) bottles, offering a sustainable solution to plastic pollution.
Another company has developed a project converting the carbon monoxide in the industrial exhaust gas into fuel ethanol and feed protein.
Bioethanol can be further used in gasoline, as marine fuel or as a feedstock for sustainable aviation fuel, which reduces CO2 emissions. Additionally, ethanol can serve as a valuable chemical raw material for various applications, from ethylene to textiles.
