China's Yuan Yue advanced to the second round of the WTA 500 Korea Open in Seoul after defeating Romania's Elena-Gabriela Ruse 4-6, 6-2, 6-2.

Despite dropping the first set, Yuan, the No. 8 seed, staged a comeback by adjusting her strategy and breaking Ruse twice in the final set. Ruse, who recently reached the third round of the US Open, was a strong opponent, but Yuan's consistent deep returns and tactical shifts helped her turn the match around.

Yuan clinched victory after a line call confirmed Ruse's return had gone out, securing a spot in the next round of the tournament.
