China's Yuan Yue advanced to the second round of the WTA 500 Korea Open in Seoul after defeating Romania's Elena-Gabriela Ruse 4-6, 6-2, 6-2.
Despite dropping the first set, Yuan, the No. 8 seed, staged a comeback by adjusting her strategy and breaking Ruse twice in the final set. Ruse, who recently reached the third round of the US Open, was a strong opponent, but Yuan's consistent deep returns and tactical shifts helped her turn the match around.
Yuan clinched victory after a line call confirmed Ruse's return had gone out, securing a spot in the next round of the tournament.

China’s Wang Xiyu advanced to the second round of the WTA 250 Thailand Open after a 7-5, 6-1 victory over Switzerland's Viktorija Golubic.
Despite falling into a 0-3 deficit early in the first set, Wang battled back, saving two set points before taking the set 7-5. Her strong performance continued into the second set, where she dominated with aggressive play and smart net approaches, securing a 6-1 win.
This marks Wang's first career victory over Golubic, advancing her to the next round of the tournament.
