Gunfire heard in Malian capital Bamako: reports

Gunfire was heard in several parts of Mali's capital, Bamako, media reports said on Tuesday morning. 

The gunfire started around 0530 GMT. Some residents said it came from the direction of the airport, while others said it was coming from next to the gendarmerie, a Reuters report said. 

According to AFP, unidentified gunmen also attacked at least one police base in Bamako.
