Located in Guangzhou's Old Town, the pedestrian Shangxiajiu Street is an interesting blend of Western and Chinese architectural styles. Here, shops are housed within "qilou" tenement buildings, whose long arcades shelter shoppers and pedestrians from the sun, wind and rain.
