A C919 jetliner from the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC) successfully landed at Lhasa Gonggar Airport in southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region on Thursday, marking its first landing in Lhasa, Xinhua reported.
The aircraft took off from Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport in southwest China's Sichuan Province, completing the 2-hour, 8-minute flight.
Situated in the Yarlung Tsangpo River Valley at an altitude of 3,569 meters, Lhasa Gonggar Airport's high-altitude conditions present challenges. Following its arrival, the C919 will undergo test flights to assess environmental control, avionics and propulsion systems to meet high-altitude operational requirements.
