Speaking at a press conference on Thursday after a series of deadly explosions in Lebanon on Tuesday and Wednesday, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said China pays close attention to relevant incidents, opposes any infringement of Lebanon's sovereignty and security, and expresses concern that the incident may trigger an escalation of regional tensions. China calls on all parties concerned to effectively safeguard peace and stability in the Middle East, he added.
