China has stated that it will only resume the import of Japanese aquatic products based on scientific evidence and the results of monitoring activities. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning emphasized that while an agreement has been reached with Japan, imports will not resume immediately. China will follow its laws and WTO rules, and ensure safety of imports.
