The China-proposed Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) is poised to accelerate the implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) agreement and foster economic growth both within and beyond the continent, according to Denis Sassou Nguesso, president of the Republic of the Congo.
In an interview with China Media Group during his stay in Beijing for the 2024 Forum on China-Africa Cooperation Summit earlier this month, President Sassou Nguesso highlighted that the BRI, which includes projects aimed at boosting infrastructure connectivity and facilitating trade and investment between countries, is a significant boon to the implementation of the AfCFTA.
