Giant "tidal tree" patterns have recently appeared on the Qiantang River in east China. The natural phenomenon of forest patterns forming on the mudflats is a result of the rise and fall of the Qiantang River tides. The Qiantang River, which has one of the world's largest tidal bores, attracts thousands of tourists every year.
