China's top ranked men's tennis player, Zhang Zhizhen, advanced to the quarterfinals of the ATP Hangzhou Open with a one-sided 6-3, 6-0 victory over Italy's Mattia Bellucci on Saturday.
Bellucci saved a break point while trailing 4-3 in the first set, but Zhang went on to convert the break and then claimed the set 6-3 with a big serve.
The 27-year-old Chinese rising star was competing on home soil for the first time since reaching the fourth round of the Shanghai Masters last October.
The World No. 48 dominated the second set with several shots that excited the crowd.
The Hangzhou Asian Games champion repeatedly blasted deep shots to wrap up the contest 6-0 and dispatch Bellucci in just 77 minutes. Zhang moved on to the quarterfinals, where he will face Spain's Roberto Carballes Baena.
His Chinese compatriot Bu Yunchaokete will meet Kazakhstan's Mikhail Kukushkin in another quarterfinal contest, which will be their first meeting.
