The 20th Asian Senior Karate Championship and the 3rd Asian Para-Karate Championship impressed Karate practitioners and fans worldwide.
The 20th Asian Senior Karate Championship and the 3rd Asian Para-Karate Championship were held at the Linping Sports Center Gymnasium in Hangzhou, from September 20th to 22nd. Over 360 athletes from 30 countries and regions, along with more than 20 para-athletes from 7 countries and regions, competed in the championships. Through three days of fierce competition, China ultimately secured a total of 5 medals: 1 gold, 2 silver, and 2 bronze.
As the top Karate event in Asia, this year’s tournament marks the 20th anniversary of the championships, bringing together the continent's top karatekas. The participants demonstrated Karate's charm and vitality, etching new legends into the rich history of Karate. Each bout was a blend of intensity and mutual respect, fostering an environment of learning and growth that continues to propel the sport forward across Asia.
In the lead-up to the championships, a visually stunning short film infused with the essence of Chinese martial arts, premiered on Xihu Tianmu LED in Hangzhou. The film, designed to resemble a living, three-dimensional Chinese scroll, brought to life lush landscapes of green mountains and clear waters. Classic Karate techniques were beautifully performed against a backdrop of traditional Chinese screens, while the narration introduced the origins and wisdom of Karate. The production captivated audiences, showcasing the cultural synergy between Chinese martial arts and Karate, and earned widespread acclaim.
