Cristian Mungiu, a renowned Romanian filmmaker and winner of the Palme d'Or and Grand Prix at Cannes, serves as the jury president of the 11th Silk Road International Film Festival, held in Xi'an City, northwest China's Shaanxi Province, from September 21 to 25.
In an interview with CGTN, he said that the Silk Road International Film Festival represents what the Silk Road used to do hundreds of years ago – fostering communication and cooperation. He added that this is also what cinema can do today.
