The Yangtze River flows through east China's Jiangsu Province and has long played an important role in the development of southern Chinese culture. 2024 Yangtze River Culture Festival is currently underway in Jiangsu's Zhangjiagang - a city on the lower reaches of the waterway. Thousands of people have gathered for the annual Festival, celebrating one of China's most iconic rivers and its profound influence on culture, the economy, history and the environment. Zhangjiagang is also using the event as a platform to promote sustainability and conservation, making sure the Yangtze continues to support future generations. The celebration will run through November, featuring a series of different events along the iconic waterway.
