On the 75th founding anniversary of the People's Republic of China, we explore the country's growing economic influence in Latin America and the Caribbean. China, with its more than 1.4 billion people and sustained growth, is a key player in trade and infrastructure investment in the region. José Manuel Salazar, executive secretary of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), highlighted the impact of China's economic growth to Latin America. In his speech, he underlined the importance of infrastructure and technological cooperation, as well as the lessons that China's development can offer to the region.
