Wild China Up Close: Not every bird can grow up

In June, great crested terns are hatching out on the islands of Xiangshan County, east China's Zhejiang Province. The laws of nature offer no guarantee that every hatchling of one of the world's most critically endangered tern species survives. 

In this episode of "Wild China Up Close", CGTN's film crew captured the terns' survival ordeal full of competition and danger.
