Camels are famously known for being extremely resilient animals that are able to withstand the harshest of environments.

Herds of camels inhabit in the heart of the Badain Jaran Desert, with an estimated population of 68,000 occupying Alxa Right Banner, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. Over 20,000 of these camels produce milk for local herders, providing them with a substantial income.

Each spring and summer, the herders release the camels into the desert when the weather is more favorable. As winter approaches, the herders drive the camels out of the desert and into winter pastures to ensure the safety of their herds during the winter season.
