Four Chinese players – Zhang Zhizhen, Shang Juncheng, Bu Yunchaokete and Zhou Yi – will compete in the men's singles division at the China Open in Beijing. According to Tuesday's draw results, Shang and Bu will face each other in the first round.

Both Shang and Bu have been playing well recently. Bu advanced to the semifinals at the Hangzhou Open in Hangzhou, east China's Zhejiang Province, before losing to Zhang on Monday. Bu knocked out World No. 22 Karen Khachanov of Russia in the second round of the tournament.

Shang defeated Lorenzo Musetti of Italy to win the title at the Chengdu Open in Chengdu, southwest China's Sichuan Province, in his first Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) Tour final on Tuesday. The 19-year-old also became the second Tour-level men's singles champion from the Chinese mainland.

Zhang is in the same half of the draw as Shang and Bu, and will meet Alejandro Davidovich Fokina of Spain first. If Zhang wins, he will face the winner between fourth-seeded Andrey Rublev of Russia and fifth-seeded Grigor Dimitrov of Bulgaria in the second round.

The three aforementioned Chinese players are in the same half as the tournament's No. 1 seed, defending champion and two-time GRand Slam winner Jannik Sinner of Italy, who will go up against Nicolas Jarry of Chile in the first round.

Zhou is in the other half of the draw, along with second-seeded Carlos Alcaraz of Spain and third-seeded Daniil Medvedev of Russia. Medvedev will take on his compatriot, No. 7 seed Karen Khachanov, in his first match. Alcaraz will see Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard of France as his first opponent at the China Open.
