In 2023, China's outward direct investment continued to rank among the world's top, maintaining its position in the global top three for 12 consecutive years. Chinese investors have established nearly 50 thousand enterprises in 189 countries and regions. Officials say that in 2023, the majority of these overseas enterprises either turned a profit or broke even. Nearly 80% of these investments were concentrated in four sectors: leasing and business services, wholesale and retail trade, manufacturing, and finance.
