Editor's Note: Sixty years ago, he was one of the first batch of young people from the Republic of the Congo to visit China after the establishment of diplomatic relations. Since then, Chinese companies have participated in the construction of projects in the fields of fishery, mining, energy and infrastructure in the Republic of the Congo, boosting economic and social development. In this edition of Leaders Talk, CMG's He Yanke sat down with Denis Sassou Nguesso, President of the Republic of the Congo, during his state visit to China where he attended the 2024 Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) held from September 4 to 6 in Beijing. With the Republic of the Congo taking over the African co-chair of FOCAC, President Sassou says his country and Africa pin their hopes on Chinese President Xi Jinping's ten partnership initiatives in the next three years, thus advancing modernization on the African continent and building a high-level China-Africa community with a shared future.
