At least 23 Syrians were killed in an Israeli strike on a building in the Lebanese town of Younine late on Wednesday, Lebanon's state media National News Agency (NNA) reported Thursday, citing Mayor Ali Qusas.

Qusas said another eight people were wounded, including four Lebanese who sustained minor injuries. 

According to Reuters, most of the deceased were women or children.

NNA said the building targeted was rented by Syrian workers near a fuel station.
