Türkiye is making preparations for the possible evacuation of its citizens from Lebanon as cross-border conflict between Israel and Hezbollah continues, TRT reported, citing a source from the Turkish Defense Ministry on Thursday.

"The Turkish Armed Forces have the means and capabilities to carry out the tasks assigned to it for the safe evacuation of our citizens or foreign nationals from Lebanon and have successfully carried out many evacuation operations before," the source was quoted as saying.

"The current developments in Lebanon are being closely monitored in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Preliminary planning and preparations are being made within the scope of a possible evacuation operation."

The source also said that Turkish aid would continue to Lebanon, where Israel has widened its airstrikes.
