The Jiahu bone flute, or Gudi, dates back more than 8,000 years. The instrument is made from the ulna bone of a crane, with seven holes to create a seven-note scale, rewriting the history of Chinese music. In the 1980s, more than 40 bone flutes were excavated from the Jiahu relic site in Wuyang County, central China's Henan Province.
