Officials say freedom of navigation never challenged in the South China Sea

The South China Sea is a key passage for China's maritime trade. The South China Sea Strategic Situation Probing Initiative, a research institute based in Beijing, on Friday, released the Report on Navigation and Overflight Situation in the South China Sea. The report reveals that more than 400 warships from 16 countries sailed in the South China Sea in 2023 while the West accused the freedom of navigation in the South China Sea of being threatened, officials and experts say it has never been a problem.
