Led by Fabio Abreu's hat-trick, Beijing Guoan trounced Changchun Yatai 8-1 on Saturday night in the 27th matchday of the Chinese Super League season.
Cao Yongjing opened the scoring in the eighth minute with a sliding strike, helping Beijing get off to a dream start. After 17 minutes, Lin Liangming doubled the lead with a tap-in from close range.
Later in the opening half, Abreu scored twice to help Guoan jump out to a 4-0 lead, before Robert Beric pulled a goal back for Changchun in the 44th minute.
The second half saw Guoan continue to unleash their firepower as Abreu completed his hat-trick in the 51st minute.
Just a few minutes after entering the game from the bench, Fang Hao scored an easy tap-in goal, before fellow substitute Wang Ziming tallied a brace, dooming Yatai to a bitter seven-goal defeat.
The win marked Beijing Guoan's biggest margin of victory in a Chinese Super League match, while their eight goals set a club record and tied the CSL record for most goals in a game.
