President Xi Jinping on Sunday urged the Chinese people to draw inspiration from heroes and role models, aiming to build a mighty force for a stronger China. 

Xi, who also serves as general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, made these remarks during a ceremony in Beijing where the country's highest state honors were awarded, ahead of the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
