For the past 30 years, Peng Liusheng has been protecting the ancient sculptures that form the Dazu Rock Carvings in southwestern China – initially working as a security guard, and later becoming a skilled relic conservationist. Today, he’s more determined than ever to preserve this UNESCO World Heritage Site for future generations as well as honor the unsung artisans who built it more than 1,000 years ago.
