From the remote mountains of southwestern China to the maritime borders of the South China Sea, one young man's journey is a testament to the country's determination for development. Buhuo Xiaolong, a 23-year-old China Coast Guard officer from the Yi ethnic group, grew up in one of China's poorest regions.
