From the remote mountains of southwestern China to the maritime borders of the South China Sea, one young man's journey is a testament to the country's determination for development. Buhuo Xiaolong, a 23-year-old China Coast Guard officer from the Yi ethnic group, grew up in one of China's poorest regions. But after rising out of poverty, he now serves as one of the protectors of the country's coastal waters. CGTN's Wan Hongjia has the story.
