The culture and tourism departments have been promoting the integration of tourism with culture, sports, commerce and agriculture, and have been launching diversified, personalized and high-quality products.
It is estimated that in the first three quarters of the year, the number of domestic tourists will reach 4.29 billion and the tourism expenditure will reach 4.32 trillion yuan (about $616 billion), an increase of 16.8 percent and 17.1 percent year-on-year, respectively, which is close to the peak level in 2019. The number of inbound tourists in the first three quarters is expected to reach 95 million, a year-on-year increase of 55.4 percent, recovering to 93.4 percent of the same period in 2019.
The booming tourism not only enriches people's lives, but also boosts market confidence and drives consumption growth in transportation, accommodation, catering and retail.
