Extending for over 1,300 kilometers, Changbai Mountain in northeast China's Jilin Province is named after its iconic, perpetually white snow-capped peaks. The rivers of Yalu, Songhua and Tumen begin from here and go on to nourish the land. The mountain stands as one of the country's most intact natural ecosystems, featuring a rich diversity of climate types and biological communities. Established in 1960, the Changbai Mountain National Nature Reserve now hosts over 2,000 wild plant species and over 1,500 wild animal species.
