The Russian Defense Ministry said Thursday that its forces have captured the town of Vuhledar in Donetsk, a day after Kyiv's forces said they were withdrawing.
Ukraine's eastern military command confirmed on Wednesday that they had told the troops still fighting in Vuhledar to pull back to avoid becoming surrounded.
