The Great Wild Goose Pagoda, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is an iconic cultural landmark in Xi'an, a city with over 3,100 years of history.
Originally built in 652 during the flourishing Tang Dynasty (618-907), this pavilion-style brick pagoda is one of the earliest and largest of its kind still standing from that era.
Rising over 64 meters, the pagoda is a masterpiece of ancient Chinese Buddhist architecture, reflecting the profound influence of Buddhism on Chinese culture.
It was constructed to house the Buddhist sutras brought back from India by the renowned monk Xuan Zang, whose legendary journey inspired the classic Chinese novel "Journey to the West," written over 600 years later.

Despite being in the bustling heart of the city, the pagoda maintains an atmosphere of solemnity and tranquility for those who visit with reverence.

When the wind blows, the bronze chimes hanging from each tier of the pagoda create a gentle, melodious sound, evoking the grandeur and prosperity of the Tang Dynasty.
