The Beijing Central Axis was recently added to UNESCO's World Heritage List. This iconic architectural ensemble reflects the ideal urban design of China's capital, with its origins dating back to the 13th century. It was completed around 300 years later. As one of the best-preserved examples of traditional central axes in China, it embodies centuries of history.
