In the middle of a vast desert, a colossal baby carved from red sandstone lies prostrate, fast asleep. Titled "Son of the Earth," the sculpture rests peacefully on the ground, symbolizing the harmonious coexistence between man and nature. Situated in Guazhou County, Gansu Province along the historic Silk Road, the sculpture is 15 meters long, 4.3 meters high, and 9 meters wide. Created in 2016 by Professor Dong Shubing of Tsinghua University using 3D scanning and engraving technology, it has since become a major attraction, drawing countless visitors enchanted by its endearing and serene presence.
