Known as the "ships of the desert," camels play a vital role in transporting people and goods in desert areas. At Mingshan Mountain, a remarkable natural site renowned for its huge golden dunes in Dunhuang, northwest China's Gansu Province, camel riding is so popular that even special camel traffic lights are used to guide the thousands of camels that traverse the area every day.
