China's national railway system had handled over 105 million passenger trips between September 29, when the National Day holiday railway travel boom started, and October 4, according to China State Railway Group Co., Ltd., the country's railway operator.
The national railway handled over 17 million passenger trips per day between September 30 and October 4, with the number crossing 21 million on October 1, setting a new single-day record.
