Nestled deep in the mountains of Chongqing, the Tujia Shisanzhai scenic area is home to 13 traditional Tujia-style courtyard houses. The area is known for its rich culture and the warm hospitality of its villagers, who are skilled singers and dancers. During the National Day holiday, locals performed traditional Tujia ethnic songs and dances for visitors, to share the holiday atmosphere.
The villages have preserved their authentic ethnic architecture and way of life, with stilted wooden houses scattered across the landscape, blending seamlessly with the surrounding bamboo groves, trees and streams.
