At least four people were confirmed dead as a result of two tornadoes spawned as a result of Hurricane Milton on the east coast of the U.S. state of Florida, local authorities said on Thursday.

In a statement on its website, St. Lucie County confirmed "four fatalities as a result of these tornadoes."

Milton made landfall along the west-central coast of Florida on Wednesday night as a Category 3 storm, leaving over 3.3 million customers without power in Florida as of early Thursday, according to PowerOutage.us, a website that tracks and records power outages across the country.
