U.S. residents, experts slam government's hurricane inaction

With a death toll of more than 230, Helene is already the deadliest hurricane to hit the U.S. since Katrina in 2005, with possibly hundreds of people still unaccounted for.

Roughly half of the victims were in North Carolina, while more were killed in South Carolina and Georgia. With it being storm season, this won't be the last time communities are counting the cost – both financially and with lost loved ones.
