Russian President Vladimir Putin has started his visit to Turkmenistan, according to the Kremlin on Friday. Putin is attending a regional forum that will see the participation of leaders from Central Asia and beyond.
The Kremlin said that Putin is due to discuss the situation in the Middle East with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian in the Turkmen capital of Ashgabat.
