The ensemble is also scheduled to perform a new semi-staged production of George Gershwin's iconic opera Porgy and Bess this weekend in the Chinese capital.

The premiere of Porgy and Bess was held just recently in Shanghai, with participation of the musicians from Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, according to the Shanghai government's website, which said that the show united Chinese and South African artists.
