Nicaragua is breaking off diplomatic relations with Israel in solidarity with Palestine and in strict compliance with international law and conventions, the Central American nation said in a statement on Friday.
The decision is in response to what the Nicaraguan government called the genocide, atrocity and extreme hatred that the fascist and war criminal government of Israel continues to commit against the Palestinian people, said the statement.
In the statement, the Nicaraguan government reiterated its demand that Israel abide by all relevant United Nations resolutions and promote the establishment of a "free, sovereign, independent and self-determined" Palestinian State.
