The coast guard authority in southeast China's Fujian Province announced that it organized a formation of vessels to conduct comprehensive law enforcement patrols in the waters near the islands of Dongyin and Matsu on Monday.

The patrols focused on exercises such as verification and identification, boarding inspections, and control and expulsion operations, according to the coast guard.

These activities aimed to assess rapid response and emergency handling capabilities, it added.
