Expert: Outbound investments can boost China's trade growth

05:05

More than 30,000 enterprises from home and abroad will be attending the 136th China Import and Export Fair, also known as the Canton Fair. The event is being held in Guangzhou City, south China's Guangdong Province, in three phases, between October 15 and November 4. China's foreign trade hit a record high in the first three quarters of 2024, even though exports in September slowed to 2.4-percent growth, falling short of expectations. Liu Baocheng, dean of the Center for International Business Ethics at the University of International Business and Economics, said China's outbound investments can be a strong facilitator for the country's trade growth.
