The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) has blown up parts of the inter-Korean roads on its side, Yonhap reported on Tuesday, citing the Republic of Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff.

"DPRK has detonated parts of the Gyeongui and Donghae roads north of the Military Demarcation Line," the Joint Chiefs of Staff said, adding that the south had boosted its military readiness in response.

A Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson on Tuesday called on all parties to work together to uphold peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula.

In response to the related query, spokesperson Mao Ning told the media at a press briefing that China is closely monitoring developments on the Korean Peninsula and the dynamics of inter-Korean relations.

The current tensions on the Peninsula do not serve the common interests of any party, and the immediate priority is to prevent further escalation of conflicts. China's stance on upholding peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula and advancing the political settlement process of the Korean Peninsula issue remains unchanged, Mao said.
