Chinese Premier Li Qiang said on Wednesday that China is ready to work with Russia and Mongolia to further enhance mutual trust, strengthen coordination and promote deeper and more practical trilateral cooperation to better benefit the people of the three countries.

Li made the remarks while meeting with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin and Mongolian Prime Minister Luvsannamsrai Oyun-Erdene on the sidelines of the 23rd Meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of Member States of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Islamabad.

China is ready to work with Russia and Mongolia to promote more sustainable and productive trilateral cooperation, Li said, calling for deepening multilateral collaboration on platforms such as the SCO, sharing development opportunities, safeguarding common interests and working together for a new chapter in China-Russia-Mongolia cooperation.

Mishustin and Oyun-Erdene said under the strategic guidance of the heads of state, the trilateral cooperation between China, Russia and Mongolia has been developing steadily, and exchanges and dialogues in various fields have been expanded, which meets the common needs of the three countries and the stable development of the region.

They vowed to work with China to enhance the alignment of the Eurasian Economic Union, the Steppe Road Program and the Belt and Road Initiative, speed up the building of an economic corridor linking the three countries, and maintain close cooperation in areas such as transportation, energy and people-to-people exchanges.
